Protective Effects of Smilax glabra Roxb on Carbon Tetrachloride Induced Rat Acute Liver Injury by Inhibiting the Activation of the NLRP3 Inflammasome

The experiment was conducted to investigate the protective effect of Smilax glabra Roxb. aqueous extract on carbon tetrachloride induced acute liver injury in rats by regulating nucleotide binding leucine rich repeat receptors family pyrin domain containing 3 inflammasome. In this study, a rat model established single intraperitoneal injection 50 % oil solution (1 ml/kg body weight). A total were randomly divided into control group, group and intervention groups (0.75, 1.5 g/kg weight/d). or distilled water orally administered gavage once daily for seven consecutive days. Then blood samples collected. results showed that groups, levels serum aspartate aminotransferase Alanine aminotransferase, content malondialdehyde tissues significantly reduced superoxide dismutase, catalase glutathione increased significantly, lobule structures repaired cells aligned an orderly manner, expressions inflammasome, apoptosis associated speck like protein caspase-1 proteins, Interleukin 1 beta messenger ribonucleic acid decreased. exerted against inhibiting activation which suggest promising avenue exploration improving injury.
